You frame your perceptions around your own experience; if you can only conceive of a world where people are false and hold masks to their true passions and desires for the sake of social status, it is because that is the world in which you reside.
If, on the other hand, your world is made simple by the truth of what you are, guided, not retarded, by your passions and shaped by a rational evaluation of the world at large (embracing, rather than fearing new revelations), you will appreciate the deeper value of people and things, discarding surface appearance.
